If you love skiing powder, please join us!!

What is this trip about?

Backcountry skiing is intimidating and years of experience, safe practices and the right skills are necessary to navigate in the wintery mountains. Even though our society is progressing, and more and more women take over leadership and group responsibilities, the number of women in the outdoors and especially Backcountry skiing is surprisingly small (could quote number here).

As a beginner, newbie, or even seasoned backcountry skier it can be easy to fall into the backseat and have the more confident (seeming) peers take over route planning and navigation.

In our Cooke City Backcountry Ski Trip we will teach you planning techniques, navigation in the field, and how to voice your opinion in a prejudiced environment. For the new ones, we will go over how to use your gear and as always:
we are here to answer all your questions!

Anju Samuelson

Anju grew up in Berlin, Germany and lived in Turkey, Chile and the USA. She learned how to ski in order to access more ice climbs and be more efficient in mountain travel. Since her first ski run, 5 years ago, she has been hooked ever since and quickly got into objective based backcountry skiing. She has skiied in Switzerland, Italy, California and Montana. As a guide and mountain athlete she noticed quickly the underrepresentation and prejudices of women in the outdoors and has set her goal to empower women in the mountains.
